Job Title – Data IM Assistant / Technical Assistant
Duty station – Chisinau, Moldova
Salary range – 13.870,00 - 19.000,00 MDL gross
Based on the assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and previous experience.

Education & Work Experience
Qualification:

  • completion of Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree in Data Management, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field. Relevant vocational training or certifications in data entry/management may be considered.
  • For Assistant position a minimum of 1 year of experience / for Technical Assistant a minimum of 2 years in data entry, database management, or a similar role, preferably within an NGO or humanitarian organization.
  • familiarity with tools such as activity Info, KoBo Toolbox, Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms;
  • proven experience in working with large datasets and ensuring data accuracy.
  • strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining data accuracy and consistency.
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with both colleagues and external partners.
  • good organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and respond to emerging needs.
  • willingness to travel frequently within Moldova, including to remote locations.
  • languages – English/Romanian/Russian - Fluent in all aspects

People in Need (PIN) is a Czech non-governmental organization that provides relief aid and development assistance while working to defend human rights and democratic freedom. It is one of the largest reliefs and development organizations in post-communist Europe and has administered projects in 37 countries over the past 30 years. Throughout its presence in the country, PIN has been contributing to the development of following sectors: Sustainable Livelihood and Environment, Social Inclusion and Protection, Good Governance.

Position overview:
The Data Assistant plays a key role in supporting the data management processes within the MEAL department, contributing to accurate data entry, cleaning, and organization across various PIN projects. The Data Assistant is responsible for assisting in the daily handling of data, including maintaining databases, ensuring the quality of data collected in the field, and supporting the preparation of data for analysis and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry into databases like ActivityInfo and KoBo while maintaining compliance with internal standards.
  • Assist in reviewing and validating incoming data, flagging inconsistencies, and ensuring high data quality.
  • Maintain well-organized, updated, and backed-up digital records and data logs.
  • Create and manage project spreadsheets, ensuring all fields are accurately completed and discrepancies are addressed.
  • Prepare datasets for analysis, extract insights, and support MEAL staff in producing reports and verification exercises.
  • Provide regular project updates, prepare inputs for the Indicator Tracking Tool (ITT), and consolidate data from different departments.
  • Assist in creating reports, statistics, and visualizations using tools like Excel and Power BI for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in field visits to support data collection, oversee data entry processes, and ensure adherence to protocols.
  • Assist in troubleshooting data entry issues, communicate with partners, and ensure proper data transfer from field teams.
  • Support training on data tools, ensure adherence to data protection policies, and continuously learn new tools and solutions.
